Cents
Large cent coins were minted from 1793 to 1857 and hold the distinction of being the first coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint while the early United States sought to establish its own currency system. The early designs featured a wreath on the reverse side, symbolizing the agricultural economy of the nation. Over time, the design of the cent evolved, showcasing different iterations of the wreath, including the iconic Liberty Cap and Draped Bust designs. Today, collecting large cent coins is a popular hobby among numismatists.
