Seated Liberty Dimes 1837 - 1891

They were the first dime series to feature the iconic seated liberty motif, which became synonymous with Lady Liberty herself. The introduction of Seated Liberty Dimes marked a transition from the Capped Bust dime series and paved the way for future coin designs. Minted for over half a century, Seated Liberty Dimes hold an important place in numismatic history. They were produced in various mintage periods, each with its own unique characteristics. Despite a slight increase in the weight of the dime during its circulation, mint officials maintained its face value of ten cents.
