The Morgan Dollar was designed by Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan (1845-1925) and was minted from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921 & 2021 to 2024. This iconic silver dollar represented the country’s westward expansion and industrial development in the late 19th century.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the last year of the ‘Morgan Dollar’ the United States Mint is proud to present the Modern Morgan Dollar, created through the use of modern technology and historical U.S. Mint assets.
